Fringe Science

The Shork’s existence has not yet been accepted by the scientific community. Don’t worry, the silvery-half-thing will make itself known on it’s own terms, but this leads me to ask:

What’s your fringe science theory?

UPDATE:

As a card carrying Hemogoblin I have chosen wisely…

Despite my groundbreaking paper: “Rapid Macular Degeneration as a result of exposure to multiple recent discoveries,” the fools at the AMA refuse to believe that anyone has ever “blinded me with science.” -JasonCarr

It’s simple, really. Everyone is aware of dna transfection.

Plastic forks are made with oil, which we all know is old dinosaur bones that have dissolved into the glorious black liquid. Well, as it turns out, the oil actually contains trace amount of dino dna. When processed into disposable plastic items some of this dna can take on the characteristic shape of its new host, namely the common plastic fork.

Well, sadly, most of these plastic forks find their way into the cities drainage system and wash out to sea, where unsuspecting critters such as crabs and turtles eat them. Then the sharks eat the crabs and the turtles.

Thus, sharks ingest forks that were made from oil containing dino dna. Dino dna that was modified by its formation into a fork. Via transfection the shark becomes tainted with this modified dna, which devastatingly gets pass on to the kids, who grow up as shorks, not sharks.
